While New York City is the birthplace of hip-hop, it’s been said that Atlanta is its center, at least since the 2000s. The city is home to many of the genre’s most successful artists, including Outkast, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris, Lil Jon, T.I., Gucci Mane, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Future, Migos, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby. The list goes on and on.
In terms of styles, Atlanta has spawned influential styles like trap and crunk, the former of which has impacted all corners of hip-hop. Trap or trap-influenced tracks can be heard from artists throughout the US and beyond.
