DJ Khalil, a GRAMMY-winning staff producer at Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Entertainment, sits down with DJ Spider on Beatsource‘s The 20 Podcast. The Seattle-born, LA-raised producer started crafting beats for independent hip-hop artists in the ’90s, including his duo Self Scientific. In the mid-2000s, Khalil’s distinctive, hard-hitting sound caught the attention of Dre, who recruited him to Aftermath. Khalil has since produced for some of music’s most prominent artists, including JAY-Z, Drake, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kanye, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Aloe Blacc, and Jon Batiste.
