Beatsource, the new digital music service for open-format DJs, has launched in public beta. The platform, which is a joint venture between DJcity and Beatport, will begin as a download service. It offers new and classic tracks along with curated playlists from expert DJs.
The public beta is open to everyone.
The download service is the first of three Beatsource products. Its streaming service, Beatsource, expected to release at the end of 2019. Based on Beatport’s patented technology, the streaming service will integrate Beatsource’s catalog into DJ software and hardware and will include offline streaming. The PROMO service will offer a subscription tier for professional DJs. It is anticipated to launch in early 2020.
In September, Beatsource announced that legendary DJ/producer A-Trak was added to its board of managers.
